Update on court
We went to court on Monday. The court granted our petition. I have not blogged because afterwards we ran into some trouble. Gabrielle wants to go back to court and withdraw her consent. We do not yet know how this will play out. It has been 2 very long, emotionally trying days. I will post again when everything is resolved one way or the other.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you're having to go through this. An adoption in Ukraine is hard enough without this added turmoil. Our daughter we recently came home with told us 'no' the first time. She plans on going back to Ukraine when she turns 18, but she's only been home 4 weeks. Her mother and grandmother have died in the last year. Her aunt may not be far behind because of the lifestyle they all lived. Her mother was only 32.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone can reason with Gabrielle. She is about to age out. She won't be with these friends soon anyway. I just wish the kids we adopt/try to adopt could see how things will really be for them instead of focusing on what they have right now.
